Summary

Shield of Faith details my decades long battle against mental illness and the forces of the supernatural, the distinction of which can often be blurred. The manuscript is currently being typeset. I have written several versions of this work since 1993. In it, I describe visions, voices, and miracles I have experienced since 1993. Truly supernatural experiences require the approval of the Magisterum of the Roman Catholic Church. My spiritual directors have looked for the fruit of my experience as well as my obedience to the Church. One spiritual director declared that my spiritual experiences took place concurrently with my diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder, and therefore my experiences could not be supernatural. Therefore I am free to publish my experiences as that of a man with mental illness who has touched the Divine.
